R&D Optical Lab, LLC is an independent lab on the cutting-edge of optical technology. We produce all of our prescription lenses using the latest equipment that produces the highest quality products. Our state-of-the-art optical lab features computer-automated equipment to ensure quick turnaround and pinpoint accuracy. Our full-service lab includes state of the art Schneider digital equipment and the Fusion coating unit that offers one of the strongest non-glare lenses in the market as well as the best mirror lenses available, next-day.

RONALD COOKE – President & Owner. 28 years of ophthalmic industry experience including Lab Manager, National Lab Director, Director of Sales and Marketing, and COO at Diversified Ophthalmics. Ronald personally oversees ordering, manufacturing, and quality at R&D Optical Lab.

GREG NOVAK — Chief Operating Officer. Greg oversees daily lab operations, ensuring every job moves through surfacing, coating, and edging with the speed and precision our customers depend on.

SHAUNETTE LONG — Accounting & Operations. 18 years of ophthalmic industry experience across all areas of the lab. Handles accounts payable, system maintenance, and customer operations support.

SHAWNNA BLACKBURN — Customer Service. Your first call when you need answers fast. Shawnna manages order communication and account support to make sure your experience matches the quality of our lenses.

ADAM RETZLER — Surfacing Department. Leads our surfacing team on our Schneider digital free-form equipment — delivering pinpoint accuracy on every prescription.

JERRY HAUSTETTER — AR Coating & Quality Assurance. Manages our in-house AR coating facility and serves as our final QA checkpoint. Every coated lens goes through Jerry’s inspection before it ships.

ROGER ART — Maintenance & Edging. 34 years of optical lab expertise. Roger keeps our equipment running at peak performance and ensures every edged job meets our quality standard.

TOM WIDELL — Business Development. Works directly with independent eye care practices to find solutions that grow their business and simplify their lab relationship.
