Night VU Lenses also filter out yellow light between 565 and 595nm, reducing light glare and improving color saturation of viewed objects (particularly of the primary colors red, green, and blue). The improvement in color saturation, contrast, and rendition look rather striking, particularly at low levels of illumination.
